Joe Lieberman -- Putting Up With Him

It's hard to believe the entire party supported this guy for VP in 2000. After all we've been through with him in the meantime.

It's impossible to forget that this clown appeared at the Republican National Convention last year. And that he supported John McCain for President. That's bad enough, but that also means he supported Sarah Palin for VP. And potentially for president at any given moment, depending on McCain's ticker.

Isn't that something? If Joe Lieberman had his way, Sarah Palin would be that close to the presidency. And the Republicans, who gave us eight years of irresponsibility, would still be in control.

Personally, if I had my way, we would've kicked this lousy turncoat to the curb as soon as the '08 election was over. He could've had a nice time over at his new home, the Republican caucus.

Now, here he comes again. Threatening the health-care reform bill. After all the work they've put into it. After all the hope that we've built up that something decent might finally happen for a change. We've got the insurance companies with a knife to our throat all the time. And what's Joe Lieberman's take on that? He won't lift a finger to help.

I renounce half of my vote in 2000. Al Gore, you should've picked someone better.

Gang Of Six

Why does our side want to gum it up? Now we have a Gang of Six senators trying to slow down health care, probably with the idea of killing it.

And wouldn't you know, that scurve Joe Lieberman has to be right in the thick of it. Then we have Nebraska's worthless Ben Nelson, essentially a Republican. Whatever the issue, Ben's got to be right there like a thorn in everyone's side.

There's a couple Republicans in there, Snowe and Collins, which is more understandable. They're straddling the fence. I wish they'd go one way or the other. Don't dilly dally around.

The other Democrats are Wyden of Oregon, who I don't know from squat (is there a difference?), and Landrieu. It seems like we were biting our nails one time for Landrieu, that she would hang on and win. It's hard to see why ever since. She's like Nelson, a thorn in everyone's side about every time you turn around.

But Lieberman. Pfft. That guy's as worthless as spit.

Goodbye, Lieberman

I hate long goodbyes. Make it fast, don't look back. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Like that.

I think we've found the mole!

This guy -- Joe Lieberman -- trusted enough in 2000 to be our vice presidential candidate (!) -- has shown his true colors by a sufficient enough revelation to be shown the door. The one we hope doesn't hit him on his way out.

We gave him the benefit of the doubt in 2000 when he appeared to be Dick Cheney's best friend forever at the debate. It was a sit-down, gentlemanly affair that left us wishing for a fighter not a lover.

But it was after the election of George W. Bush that Joe's true political feelings started coming out. No Republican is too bad for him. No Democrat is good enough.

Now he's against our nominee and supporting John McCain, and I believe I heard he's planning to speak at the Republican convention, out-Zelling Mr. Miller! What's next, a duel with Chris Matthews?

To the extent that we actually need him in the caucus, perhaps we need to keep him around. But let it be that at the earlier possible moment -- when his limited services are no longer needed -- that he is gone, kicked to the curb, sayonara, and don't write.
