Getting Cold. No More Swimming.

I went by the municipal pool, now with Fall in full force. It's cold.

Strangely, there were plenty of parking places. 100% empty lot ... except for me.

No water in the pool. No lifeguards to tell me, "Hey! You!"

Dogs Live So In The Moment

I took my dog to a scenic place today, so I could get some photos of the first day of Fall.

She had no idea where we were going, of course, since we rarely go there. And since it's a little far, she took the trip with some resentment, since she doesn't like riding in the car long distances.

But when we got there, she was very happy. Frolicking happy. And I'm snap, snap, snapping my pictures and enjoying it myself.

We left and got home, and, as far as I know, that's it for her. There's no hashing it out in her memory, nothing she can say. It was happening now ... but now has moved on.

I, on the other hand, needed to look at the pictures, reduce a few, crop one or two. And I'm definitely still thinking of it.

Happy Fall!

Last Day Of August

September 1st marks the beginning of the inevitable slide toward winter. At that point there's no escape.

So even though it's still technically summer, winter is on the way. And we haven't even had fall, which shouldn't be forgotten.

In fall I have the same resolution this year as last. To enjoy it as much as possible. But last year when I tried that I noticed the enjoyable aspects of fall are very short-lived. Before you know it it becomes mean and bitter. And it's more enjoyable staying inside.

Still...it's a good resolution.

But, oh, winter. We'll be having to buy Christmas presents pretty soon.
