Fatigue

I'm getting very fatigue, as the French would say. I exercised vigorously tonight, listening to Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart's "It's All Happening On The Inside" LP (MP3s on my iPod.)

That has to be one of the best albums ever for exercise. It keeps me going fast and furious.

That worked me up a nasty sweat. That's been a couple hours and I don't feel terribly damp. But now I need to go mow the yard, and that will do me in ... with sweat.

Then it will be almost time for bed!

Big Workout Tonight

I've been putting off and missing my evening workouts at the fitness club lately.

But tonight I decided to get out there. It might help that I had a very busy day. I had a list of tasks that had to be accomplished and I checked right through them with blazing efficiency. And that even included a few detours I hadn't expected. It took overtime but I got everything checked off.

When I brought home that record of achievement it seemed stupid to just sit down and make excuses about being "too tired" or whatever to avoid going to workout. It really helped in fact to think this would be just one more thing for me to do today, like I was Superman.

So I stormed out there, got on the treadmill, cranked up the music, and walked with rare determination. Then to the weight thing, then to the ab crunch thing. Bang, bang, bang.

A few more things to do tonight -- such as take the dog to the park, do the dishes, clean the catbox, etc. -- and I'll be ready for bed.

I Do More During The Commercials

I can do more during the commercials than some people do all day. I've noticed this. The commercial breaks during American Idol are long enough to get all kinds of things done. If I knew how to sew, I could be hemming dresses and altering suits and make quite a bit of money.

As it is, I'm able to run to the computer, look up a few websites, read the headlines, post in a blog. Or if there's big time chores to be done, I can do them. I can do the dishes, get quite a few done during a commercial break. Then leave them heaped up in the sink, then during the next commercial go running in and rinse them and actually get them all done. Of course if there's a couple skillets, that might need to soak during a song, then scrub it during the next break.

Tonight I jumped up, ran in, cleaned out the cat box, got outside, brought out a few bags of cat droppings, and a couple or three bags of actual garbage, got them in my big garbage can, got it dragged to the street, and got back in and they still weren't back to the show. So I went and washed my hands and took my medicine and made it back just in time.

The show's off now so I can slow down the pace. Except I want to get to bed within 20-25 minutes and there's still just a few things to do! Off!

Feel Like A Nap

I'm both a little wired feeling and feeling like a nap. It wasn't a restful night's sleep last night for various reasons. One big reason is the dog was in my room, which she isn't usually. She has a nagging itch somewhere, plus long toenails on a hardwood floor can be noisy.

Plus I knew I had a lot of work to do today, and that getting up and getting to it was going to be important. Some of it requires well-timed bursts of creativity, which I usually manage but often times doubt in advance. When I got started it was no problem, next next next. Got numerous things done.

Now I have a meeting coming up, with certain unknown aspects, 45 minutes from now, and I'd rather doze off. But must not show up bleary-eyed! It's possible I'll take a nap afterward.
